Changwon is a smaller city close to Busan which is generally acknowledged to have a relaxing lifestyle but with modern conveniences. It is only 30 minutes drive from Busan and close to the mountains with a lot of fresh air. It is highly recommended for those who enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.

Hello! We are Kyle Cunningham and Robyn Mealing, the HI’s at CD Changwon. We are from Saskatchewan, Canada and both convocated with our Bachelors of Education. Just recently, we signed on for our second year here in Changwon. The past year went so well that we decided we couldn’t go home just yet. We were tempted to move to Busan, but realized that Changwon has everything we need and more! Because Changwon is a planned city, it’s so easy to get around and find your way. With its cleanliness, relaxed atmosphere, tight-knit foreign community, and green parks everywhere, it was easy to make our choice. Plus, with Busan a mere 30 minutes and W3,500 ($3.50) away, we can have all the good things of a bigger city any weekend we want.

All the foreign teachers live in the same apartment building, making it easier to socialize outside of school hours. The school is just a 15-20 minute walk from school, and only 5-10 minutes from the downtown center. Enjoy the conveniences of a big city without all the noise and commotion. CD Changwon has 12 foreign teachers, 2 Korean teachers, and 10 Korean staff, all of whom work closely together on a day to day basis for the benefit of our students. Our Korean staff are fantastic, helping and supporting each and every teacher. From classroom issues, to finding a place to buy cheese, they are there to assist us however they can. We try and have one planned social event per month. Whether its a staff lunch, or a day trip, we try and make an effort to bring everyone together outside of work to have some fun.

Come join us at CD Changwon!
